Career path into radio:
|
I started radio presenting in April 2002. A family friend called me to do a Gurbani program on radio - after my refusal, she convinced me to agree to do programmes for at least 2 weeks. After a few days, I started enjoying radio presenting and felt it was necessary to do programmes about Sikhism. I would like to say that I don’t consider this as my career but a duty, which I have received with Guru Sahib’s blessings.

Inspiration:
I was inspired to Sikhism by a Granthi Singh in my village, who was my classmate’s cousin. I used to go to her house to do my school work, where he used to come and tell us about Gurbani and Sakhis (stories).

Hobbies:
I like reading health-related books, sewing, cooking and listening to Gurbani. I like keeping fit, so I enjoy going to the gym.

Most famous celebrity ever met:
I have met many famous people but regard a few above others. I have met Jathedars of Akal Takhat Sahib and Keshgarh Sahib, Granthi and Kirtani Singhs of Harmandar Sahib.

Favourite people:
Bhai Harnam Singh Anand and Bhai Rama Singh were my favorite Singhs. They helped and inspired me after I came to England
